This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the World War Two Kokoda Campaign, 1942 to 2017.
The Battle of Kokoda was one of the most iconic in the history of Papua New Guinea and Australia, in which legends were made like the ‘Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels’ and the ANZACs.
Kokoda is to date one of PNG’s biggest tourist attractions with over 3000 trekkers walking the 96 kilometre-long-route every year.
The track passes through the Owen Stanley Ranges across the Central and Northern (Oro) provinces.
The Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority is partnering with the Kokoda Track Authority to facilitate and organise commemorative activities throughout the year, especially during ANZAC Day April 25th and National Remembrance Day July 23rd.
